Backyard Herbs: Using the Weeds That Grow In Your Backyard
Saturday, May 12 2012 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Saturdays May 5th and May 12, 2012 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tired of battling the weeds that grow in your back yard? Join us in this 2-part workshop and learn about the weeds you try to eradicate. You might be surprised they are some of the most nourishing and nutritious plants that grow on earth! We’ll take a walk, see what’s growing and talk about the medicinal uses of each plant, how they can be used in food and medicine and sample a few as we go along. We’ll discuss both invasive and native plants in detail. You’ll never see your yard the same again! Kristine Brown, a practicing community herbalist who owns Luna Farm LLC in Troy, Illinois, will host the event. The cost is $10. Please RSVP to TNI's education office at 618-467-2521. For more information about Luna Farm, visit www.lunaherbco.com.
