Expert Led Hike - Brad Winn: Explore like Lewis and Clark

When

Saturday October 12
9:00 am - 11:00 am

Where

The Nature Institute
2213 South Levis Lane, Godfrey, IL, 62035

Event Type

Join Brad Winn at The Nature Institute for a hike that allows us to experience the plants and animals like Lewis and Clark would have on their expedition out west. Many of the things that they encountered would have been completely new and foreign to them, so they had to keep detailed descriptions in their journals.

We will hike the trails like this is an uncharted territory and we will use our observation skills to create detailed descriptions of the plants and hopefully animals we encounter along the way.

Brad Winn is the Site Superintendent of Lewis and Clark State Historic Site in Hartford, Illinois. The site is a reconstruction of the winter camp, Camp Dubois, where the Corps of Discovery would have been training and living before they left in the spring of 1804.
