Join us at the Heartland Prairie at Gordon Moore Park in Alton for bimonthly prairie walks. They are held every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, April – October. The walks are free and open to the public and we focus on plant and bird identification.
We discuss the plants in our newer sections at the observation deck until approximately 6:00 pm, so if you are running late you can still join us at the front section of the prairie.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately. Bring water, and if you have binoculars and a plant identification book you might want to bring them as well.
