SUMMARY:Roaming Naturalists
DESCRIPTION:Roaming Naturalists is a monthly hike designed for adults that 
 want to learn more about the natural world. Topics will range from birds t
 o plants to insects and beyond. While each hike will have a topic of focus
 \, we will allow the interest of the group and the surprises that nature t
 hrows at us to determine what we learn on our hike.\n\nHikes will range fr
 om 1-2 miles (rarely 3 miles) and easy to moderate terrain. These hikes wi
 ll occur rain or shine. In the event of icy conditions\, or excessive snow
 \, the hike may be canceled. The Nature Institute closes for the weather w
 hen Alton Public Schools close.\n\nRoaming Naturalist Hikes are free to at
 tend. Suggested Donation: $5\n\nHopefully we have some snow in February or
  at least mud to find tracks in. Let’s see what animals are around durin
 g the coldest months of the year.\n\n 	February 20 – Tracks in the Snow\
 n\nIn March\, we will look for evidence the amphibian migration to our sin
 khole ponds. We will hopefully hear some spring peepers singing for the la
 dies as well.\n\n 	March 19\n\nIn April\, our hike will be a search for ou
 r spring ephemeral wildflowers.\n\n 	April 16\n\nLearn more here.
