  when the fruit is ripe. Let’s hike around and see if we can find any fr
 uits to try along the trails.\nDescription:\nRoaming Naturalists is a mont
 hly hike designed for adults (all ages welcome) that want to learn more ab
 out the natural world. Topics will range from birds to plants to insects a
 nd beyond. While each hike will have a topic of focus\, we will allow the 
 interest of the group and the surprises that nature throws at us to determ
 ine what we learn on our hike.\nMeet your guide at the trail head parking 
 lot. Hikes will range from 1-2 miles (rarely 3 miles) and easy to moderate
  terrain. These hikes will occur rain or shine. In the event of icy condit
 ions\, or excessive snow\, the hike may be canceled. The Nature Institute 
 closes for the weather when Alton Public Schools close.\nProgram Fees:\nFr
