we are going to listen and look for some of the most elusive birds at TNI
. The warblers are migrating species of small songbirds that can be really
difficult to spot.\n\nBring binoculars and expect to do lots of standing
still and watching the trees.\n\nDescription:\nRoaming Naturalists is a mo
nthly hike designed for adults (all ages welcome) that want to learn more
about the natural world. Topics will range from birds to plants to insects
and beyond. While each hike will have a topic of focus\, we will allow th
e interest of the group and the surprises that nature throws at us to dete
rmine what we learn on our hike.\nMeet your guide at the trail head parkin
g lot. Hikes will range from 1-2 miles (rarely 3 miles) and easy to modera
te terrain. These hikes will occur rain or shine. In the event of icy cond
itions\, or excessive snow\, the hike may be canceled. The Nature Institut
e closes for the weather when Alton Public Schools close.\nProgram Fees:\n
Free\, but donations are appreciated\nRegistration Required:\nNo\, but pre
ferred (You will receive a reminder email if you register ahead of time.)\
nThings to bring: \nReusable water bottle
