2213 South Levis Lane, Godfrey, IL, 62035

Event Type

The Nature Institute is partnering with the Missouri Botanical Garden and other conservation organizations in Illinois and Missouri to remove large swaths of invasive honeysuckle (Lonicera mackii and Lonicera japonica).

TNI invites you to join us for a morning of cutting, and pulling these most hated plant species. We will be working in the Mississippi Sanctuary in a section near the bluff edge. The terrain will be on an incline, but not so steep that most people can not easily stand and work. The walk to the work site will be about 1/2 mile along a paved roadway.

Registration is not required but is preferred.

Things to bring:

  • Water Bottle
  • Work Gloves
  • Be sure to wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and long sleeves are recommended.
  • Dress for the weather
  • You are welcome to bring your hand tools, but TNI will provide the needed tools. (Note: TNI is not responsible for personal tools that get damaged or lost)
