Nature Notes: Education Volunteer Workshop

When

Monday March 18
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Where

The Nature Institute
2213 South Levis Lane, Godfrey, IL, 62035

The Nature Institute (TNI) is searching for volunteers to assist with school field trips. As a thank you for giving your time to today’s youth, TNI is putting together workshops that continue the nature education of our volunteers. Some topics that will be covered will include; TNI’s field trip curriculum, best practices for leading a group, natural history topics, Alton history topics, and much more.

Even though this workshop is geared towards education volunteers all TNI volunteers and those interested in becoming TNI volunteers are welcome to attend. We will start each meeting at the lodge.

The topic this month will be TNI’s Spring on the Preserve field trip curriculum. You will meet long time volunteers that have been leading rotations and will learn the basics for how to step in and lead a group yourself. It may sound daunting, but we desire to give you all the tools and resources to feel comfortable outside with a group of kids.

If you have not filled out a volunteer form please do so.

If you have any questions, email Ramona at rpuskar@thenatureinstitute.org or call 618-466-9930.
